Our founders spent their careers inside ISRO's Space Applications Centre, developing optical instruments and qualifying components for national missions. The advice you get is shaped by hardware that had no option but to work.

A recommendation is only useful if somebody can build it. We stay engaged through design reviews, vendor qualification and test campaigns rather than handing over a report and leaving.

We are not a reseller and we hold no supplier relationships that need protecting. When we tell you a component is wrong for your mission, that is the only reason we are telling you.

The Space Consultants was founded by space scientists and engineers who came up through India's national space programme — designing optical instruments, qualifying components, and carrying hardware from a requirement note all the way to a launch pad.
In that work, a pattern kept repeating. Capable organisations with real ambition were losing years to problems that had nothing to do with ambition: requirements written in language no supplier could bid against, proposals accepted without an independent technical read, components procured on price and rejected at qualification, facilities built for a capability the mission did not actually need.
The expertise to prevent all of it existed — but it sat inside a handful of institutions, unavailable to the startups, manufacturers, universities and agencies who needed it most.
We built The Space Consultants to make that expertise available on demand. We work as an extension of your team: defining what needs to be built, proving it can be built, finding who can build it, and staying on it until it is built.

Understand
We start with the mission, not the shopping list. What is the objective, what are the real constraints, what has already been decided, and what is still open.

Define
We convert intent into engineering language: requirements, budgets, interfaces and acceptance criteria that a supplier can bid against and a reviewer can hold you to.

Prove
Feasibility, compatibility and reliability analysis before commitment. It is far cheaper to find a problem in an analysis than in a qualification campaign.

Realise
Design, source, negotiate, build, test. We stay accountable through vendor qualification and delivery, so the engineering that was promised is the engineering that arrives.

Pradyumna Sharma
Co-Founder
Pradyumna works at the point where space engineering meets industrial reality — the translation of a design requirement into a component that can actually be sourced, manufactured and qualified. As a scientist at ISRO's Space Applications Centre, he built deep expertise in component design and sourcing for space applications, working across the engineering and manufacturing chain that turns a specification into flight-ready hardware. He has since carried that experience into entrepreneurship, founding multiple ventures in the component manufacturing industry.

Prathmesh Ghag
Co-Founder
Prathmesh has spent more than twelve years developing advanced optical systems for space missions — the class of instrument where performance is decided in micrometres and there is no opportunity to service the hardware once it has launched. At ISRO's Space Applications Centre he led the creation of critical instrumentation, including the Vibration Insensitive Phase Shift Interferometer, and contributed to the Mars Orbiter Mission. His work spans optical design and analysis, precision metrology, instrument development, alignment and characterisation, and the environmental qualification that determines whether an optical system survives launch and operates on orbit.
